Abrahamic religions (अब्राहमिक मजहब), English Books, Suggested Books, Voice of India, इतिहास, सही आख्यान (True narrative)Mohammed and the rise of Islam
Marligoliouth was a great linguist and scholar and was for a long time a professor of Arabic at the Univ. of Oxford. The spiritual equipage of Islam and Christianity is similar; their spiritual contents, both in quality and quantum, are about the same. The central piece of the two creeds is “one true God” of masculine gender who makes himself known to his believers through an equally single, favoured individual. The whole prophetic spirituality in both is mediumistic in essence. Here everything takes place through a proxy, through an intermediary. The proxy is the favoured individual, a privileged mediator…Hitherto we have looked on Hinduism through the eyes of Islam and Christianity. Let us know learn to look at these ideologies from the vantage point of Hindu spirituality- they are no more than ideologies, lacking as they are in the integrality and inwardness of true religion and spirituality. Such an exercise would also throw light on the self-destructiveness of the modern ideologies of Communism and Imperialism, inheritors of the prophetic mission or “burden”, in its secularized version, of Christianity and Islam. The perspective gained will be great corrective and will add a new liberating dimension; it will help not only India and Hinduism but the whole world.

Muslim League Attack On Sikhs And Hindus In The Punjab 1947 (PB)
English Books, Voice of India, इतिहास, सही आख्यान (True narrative)Muslim League Attack On Sikhs And Hindus In The Punjab 1947 (PB)
The volume in hand is a reprint of an old book compiled in 1947) by Sardar Gurbachan Singh Talib, Principal of the Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jullundur, and published in 1950 by the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). It records the story of 7-mil-lion Hindus and Sikhs who were uprooted from their homes in the West Punjab, the North-Western Frontier, Sind and parts of Kashmir. It tells the story of political parleys that preceded this event, their inevitable failure, and the barbarity that immediately followed -barbarity that had elements of pre-planning. The book records the atrocities of this period – the carnage, killings, abductions and forced conversions that took place particularly in 1946-47, forcing Hindus and Sikhs to leave their hearths and homes and start on the “biggest mass migration of humanity,” as the author describes it.
At the end of the book, the author gives an Appendix, 100 pages of about 50 eye-witness accounts of those atrocities. It contains statements of those who saw themselves attacked, their houses burnt, their kith and kin killed, their womenfolk abducted but who themselves survived to relate their account. The section also includes press reports and other first-hand accounts. For example, one report which appeared in The Statesman of April 15, 1947 narrates an event that took place in village Thoha Khalsa of Rawalpindi District. It is a story of tears and shame and also of great sacrifice and heroism. The story tells us how the Hindu-Sikh population of this tiny village was attacked by 3000-strong armed Muslims, how badly outweaponed and outnumbered, the besieged had to surrender, but how their women numbering 90 in order to “evade inglorious surrender” and save their honour jumped into a well “following the example of Indian women of by-gone days.” Only three of them were saved. “There was not enough water in the well to drown them all,” the report adds. The author also gives an 85-page long “list of atrocities,” date by date and region by region, that took place during the months from mid-December 1946 to the end of August 1947 And these represent only “a small fraction of what really happened,” and they have to be multiplied “a hundred-fold or more…to get the right proportions,” the author says.SKU: n/a -

Muslim Slave System in Medieval India
Slavery originated during the age of savagery and continued into ancient civilizations. Slavery was there in Babylon and elsewhere in Mesopotamia; it was widely prevalent in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, centuries before the coming of Christ. Ancient India also had slaves but they were so mildly treated that foreign visitors like Megasthenes, who were acquainted with their fate in other countries, failed to notice the existence of slavery in this country.
An altogether new dimension-religious sanction-was added to the institution of slavery with the rise of Christianity to power in the Roman Empire. Hitherto, slavery had been a creation of the crude in human nature the urge to dominate over others, to make use of others for private comfort and profit. Now it was ordained that the God of the Christians had bestowed the whole earth and all its wealth on the believers, that the infidels had no natural or human rights, and that the believers could do to the infidels whatever they chose-kill them, plunder them, reduce them to the status of slaves or non-citizens. In short, slavery became a divinely ordained institution.
With the advent of Islam, slavery became inalienable with religion and culture and was accorded a permanent place in society. It goes to the credit of Islam to create slave trade on a large scale, and run it for profit like any other business. Prophet Muhammad had not only accepted the prevailing Arab practice of making slaves but also set a precedent when he sold some Jewish women and children of Medina in exchange for horses and arms. War was prescribed on religious grounds, and became an integral part of Islam. The Quran expressly permitted the Muslims to acquire slaves through conquest.
From the day India became a target of Muslim invaders its people began to be enslaved in droves to be sold in foreign lands or employed in various capacities on menial and not-so-menial jobs within the country. Indeed, from the days of Muhammad bin Qasim in the eighth century to those of Ahmad Shah Abdali in the eighteenth, enslavement, distribution, and sale of Hindu prisoners was systematically practised by Muslim invaders and rulers of India.
Right from the fifteenth century Muslims would go on furnishing black slaves to European slave traders. At least 80Ck of all the black slaves that were ever exported from Black Africa, went through Muslim hands. A large part of the slaves transported to America had also been bought from Muslim slave – catchers.
The present study by Professor K.S. Lal documents for the first time the Muslim slave system as it obtained in medieval India under Muslim rule.

On Hinduism: Reviews and Reflections
There are two major groups of religions in the world today. First are the conversion-based monotheistic creeds of Christianity and Islam. Second are the pluralistic dharmic traditions of India, of which Hinduism is the oldest and the largest. Chinese Taoism and Japanese Shinto have an affinity with dharmic traditions. So also the indigenous religious traditions of pre-Christian Europeans, pre-Islamic West Asians, Native Americans, Africans, Australians, and Pacific Islanders which are re-awakening, particularly in Europe and the Americas and Africa. As the world has now moved out of colonial domination by monotheistic creeds, a new respect for dharmic traditions is arising everywhere. At the same time, dharmic traditions are beginning to speak against the missionary aggression of Christianity and Islam. But the missionary aggression continues unabated. In fact, aggression has become more determined and mobilized larger resources in money as well as manpower than ever before. It is this scenario that makes the work of Ram Swarup (1920-1998) so significant. He has understood the current world situation, the dangers to Hinduism, the value of Hinduism for the future of humanity, and a practical way to both overcome the dangers and promote opportunities for the good of all. He outlines a Hindu approach to the problems of the world that offers deep and lasting solutions that go beyond the limitations of Western religions or Western science, following the development of consciousness as the real thrust in civilization.

Perversion of India’s political parlance
Voice of India, इतिहास, राजनीति, पत्रकारिता और समाजशास्त्र, सही आख्यान (True narrative)Perversion of India’s political parlance
As one surveys India’s political parlance, the first feature one notices is that while certain people and parties are described as Leftist, certain others are designated as Rightist. The second feature which invites attention is that these contradistinctive labels – Leftist and Rightist – have never been apportioned among people and parties concerned by an impartial tribunal like, say, the Election Commission. What has happened is that certain people and parties have appropriated one label – Leftist – for themselves, and reserved the other label – Rightist – for their opponents, without permission from or prior consultation with the latter. The third feature which one discovers very soon is that people and parties who call themselves Leftist, also claim to be progressive, revolutionary, socialist, secularist, and democratic. At the same time, they accuse the ‘Rightists’ of being reactionary, revivalist, capitalist, and fascist. The fourth feature of the Indian political scene needs a somewhat deeper look because it goes beyond the merely political and borders on the philosophical. The Leftists claim that they are committed to a scientific interpretation of the world-process including economic, social, political, and cultural developments, and that, therefore, their plans and programmes are not only pertinent but also profitable for the modern age. Simultaneously, they accuse that the ‘Rightists’ are addicted to an obscurantist view of the same world-process and, therefore, to such outmoded forms of economy, polity, and culture as are bound to be injurious at this stage of human history. One cannot help concluding that the dictionaries are not al all helpful in deciphering the Leftist language. The source of that language has to be sought elsewhere. There is no truth whatsoever in the Leftist claim that India’s prevailing political parlance took shape in the course of India’s fight for freedom against British imperialism.

Pseudo-Secularism Christian Missions and Hindu Resistance
Voice of India, इतिहास, सही आख्यान (True narrative)Pseudo-Secularism Christian Missions and Hindu Resistance
This book forms the Introduction to a bulkier publication, Vindicated By Time: The Niyogi Committee Report On Christian Missionary Activities, which carries a report of the complete Niyogi Committee Report published in 1956. The Constitution of independent India adopted in January 1950 made things quite smooth for the Christian missions. They surged forward with renewed vigour. Nationalist resistance to what had been viewed as an imperialist incubus during the Struggle for Freedom from British rule, broke down when the very leaders who had frowned upon it started speaking in its favour. Voices which still remained ‘recalcitrant’ were sought to be silenced by being branded as those of ‘Hindu communalism’. Nehruvian Secularism had stolen a march under the smokescreen of Mahatma Gandhi’s sarva-dharma-sambhava. The Christian missionary orchestra in India after independence has continued to rise from one crescendo to another with the applause of the Nehruvian establishment manned by a brood of self-alienated Hindus spawned by missionary-macaulayite education.

Stalinist “Historians” spread the big lie
The Babri Masjid built on the site of the Rama-Janmabhumi at Ayodhya is verily the tip of an iceberg which remains submerged in the hundreds of histories written by Muslim historians, in Hindu literary sources which are slowly coming to light, in the accounts of foreign travelers who visited India and the neighboring lands during medieval and modern times, and above all in the reports of the archaeological surveys carried out in all those countries which had been for long the cradles of Hindu culture.

The legacy of Muslim rule in India
The legacy of Muslim rule in India has to be assessed because in spite of a thousand years of Muslim conquest and rule, India has survived with a Hindu ethos. Based on source-materials from Persian chroniclers, foreign visitors and indigenous writers, an assessment of the legacy of Muslim rule in India has been attempted in this book.

In this book, Dr.Koenraad Elst has presented his wide-ranging study of Fascism, Nazism, Communism and the Hindutva movement. He has drawn the conclusion that “Hindu fascism” like “Loch Ness monster” is merely a combination of words which may produce some sound and fury but which signify no observed reality.
