Meeting with the Masters
0 out of 5(0)At a young age, Finnish film director, adventurer, and author Taavi ‘Rishi’ Kassila started to look for a spiritual master. He was seeking someone who could introduce him to the deepest mysteries of life. On the journey to find his teacher, he learned the art of meditation from an Indian yogi and met the world-famous spiritual teacher J. Krishnamurti. He hosted a television interview with the guru of the Beatles, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. He interviewed the Nobel Peace Prize winner His Holiness the Dalai Lama at his administrative palace in the Himalayas, as well as the Meditation Master Jeshe Lama. Kassila sought out many famous spiritual masters, including Sai Baba, and Mother Meera of Germany. He was also able to interview Annamalayi Swami, an enlightened disciple of the famous Ramana Maharshi. He met and interviewed remarkable scientists, such as brain researcher Matti Bergström, a man who was able to pinpoint which part of the brain experiences God, and the professor of atomic physics K. V. Laurikainen, who explained how he found proof of God’s existence by studying the movements of light particles. Kassila met over thirty masters of their fields and finally, he found what he was looking for – his own master – the South Indian saint, Amma, Mata Amritanandamayi. He traveled to South India to make a film about her. Now, in this rare book, Amma’s and her father’s interviews are published for the first time. This amazing and unique story takes the reader on an exciting spiritual journey to the inner landscape of the greatest thinkers and spiritual teachers of our time.

Had Sardar Patel Been The First Prime Minister
Had Sardar Patel Been The First Prime Minister
0 out of 5(0)When a nation begins to pine for a person from its past, wishing he remained at the helm for longer, it indicates that the path taken by that nation is not the correct one. With Sardar Patel, especially vis-a-vis Nehru, the Indian nation still mourns the fact that the former did not become the first Prime Minister of India. This book, written by Justice (retd.) S N Aggarwal, author of “Nehru’s Himalayan Blunders”, establishes the real reasons why we still pine for Patel’s longer presence at the horizon of our national leadership. The book, quoting from authentic sources, also gives ample insight into the views and understanding of the affairs of the nation, which Sardar not only preached but also practiced. Usually, Sardar Patel, the “Iron Man” that he was, is lauded for his role in the unification of post-independent India. With Nehru botching up the only princely state he handled – namely, Jammu and Kashmir – Patel’s contribution in unifying more than 500 princely states in the Indian union becomes all the more laudable. However, this book goes beyond. “Had Sardar Patel been the first Prime Minister, the country would have been fully armed to defend herself, there could have been no danger from outside. By following the principles of patriotism, moral values and high character and discipline, there would have been no internal problem,” writes the author. And, like the case of Kashmir, in these matters too, Nehru’s conduct makes one wish all the more strongly that Sardar should have been the first Prime Minister of India.
