आधुनिक भारत का इतिहास (1740 ई. से 1950 ई. तक) : आधुनिक भारत का इतिहास, अत्यंत रोचक, पठनीय एवं प्रेरणादायक हैं। यह इतिहास उस समय से आरम्भ होता है, जब मुगलों का समस्त वैभव धूल-धूसरित होकर केवल लाल किले तक सीमित रह जाता है और मराठों के हाथों की कठपुतली बनकर अंतिम सांसें गिनने लगता है। इस युग में होने वाले अफगान आक्रमणों के हाथों, मराठों की भी कमर टूट जाती है और वे बिखरने लगते हैं। इस काल में पूरा देश हिन्दुओं, मराठों और मुस्लिम रियासतों में विभक्त होकर एक दूसरे के विनाश के लिये भयानक रक्तपात करता हुआ दिखाई देता है। ईस्ट इण्डिया कम्पनी भारत की इस दुर्दशा का लाभ उठाती है और तेजी से पसरती हुईं पहले मद्रास, फिर बंगाल और इलाहबाद और अंत में दिल्ली तक जा पहुंचती है। 1857ई. में भारत अपनी खोई हुई स्वतंत्रता प्राप्त करने का प्रयास करता है किंतु ईस्ट इण्डिया कम्पनी के हाथों से निकलकर ब्रिटिश ताज के अधीन हो जाता है। लगभग तीन दशकों बाद ही भारत अपनी मुक्ति के लिये पुनः आंदोलन करता है। यह आंदोलन 1947ई. में तब तक चलता रहता है, जब तक कि भारत दासता की बेड़ियां पूरी तरह काट नहीं डालता। इतिहासकार डॉ. मोहनलाल गुप्ता द्वारा लिखित यह इतिहास भारत के विश्वविद्यालयों के पाठ्यक्रम को ध्यान में रखकर लिखा गया है।

आज भी खरे हैं तालाब : विश्वभर में बुद्धिजीव निरन्तर दोहरा रहे हैं कि तृतीय विश्वयुद्ध पानी के कारण होगा। राजस्थान में वर्षा का औसत अन्य क्षेत्रों की तुलना में बहुत कम है इसलिए जल-संग्रहण के अनेक उपाय परम्परागत रूप से किये जा रहे हैं। ‘आज भी खरे हैं तालाब’ के लेखक अनुपम मिश्र ने गहराई से राजस्थान के परम्परागत जल संग्रहण के उपायों का विवेचन किया है। प्रस्तुत ग्रंथ में राजस्थान के विभिन्न तालाबों का शोधपरक विवरण प्रस्तुत किया है। अनुपम मिश्र के लेखन की एक उल्लेखनीय विशेषता यह है कि उन्होंने सुदूर अंचलों में स्थित तालाबों का सूक्ष्मता से अध्ययन कर उनकी समस्त विशेषताओं को प्रकट करते हुए रोचक शैली में विवरण प्रस्तुत किया है। ‘आज भी खरे हैं तालाब’ की सार्थकता का अनुमान इसी से लगाया जा सकता है कि अब तक अल्प अवधि में ही इसकी लगभग एक लाख प्रतियाँ प्रकाशित हो चुकी हैं। निःसंदेह राजस्थान के जल स्रोतों से संबंधित यह पुस्तक इस दिशा में शोध करने वाले विषयों के साथ ही जल-संग्रहण संबंधी चेतना जागृत करने वालों के लिए भी अत्यन्त ही उपयोगी एवं लाभप्रद सिद्ध होगी।

प्रस्तुत पुस्तक बिहार आंदोलन की व्यापकता और उसमें बुनियादी परिवर्तन और क्रांति के बीज होने की क्षमता का आँखों देखा प्रामाणिक विवरण पेश करती है। एक पत्रिका में छपे लेखों, रपटों और दस्तावेजों के माध्यम से किसी आंदोलन पर ऐसी पुस्तक शायद ही हिंदी में कोई दूसरी हो। बिहार की संघर्षशीलता, जुझारूपन और आंदोलन-शक्ति को समझने में सहायक एक उपयोगी पुस्तक।SKU: n/a -

बलात्कार के आँकड़े बताते हैं कि औरत दिनोदिन असुरक्षित हुई है। घर, स्कूल, सड़क, खेत-खलिहान—कहाँ पर ‘निर्भयाकांड’ नहीं होते? देह-शोषण की शिकार औरत अमूमन लोक-लाज अथवा ग्लानि के चलते अपना मुँह बंद रखती है या फाँसी के फंदे पर झूल जाती है। किंतु जब किसी रेप-पीडि़ता के भीतर आग धधक उठती है, तो वह अपने अर्धनारीश्वर रूप में एक मिसाल बन जाती है। नारीगत कोमलता और पौरुषेय कठोरता की धूपछाँही द्युति एक विलक्षण आलोक-लोक सिरज देती है। यही अग्नि-राग है।
पंचतत्त्वों से बने हर मानव शरीर में अग्नि का वास है, कहीं कम, कहीं ज्यादा। इसलिए यदि ‘अग्नि-राग’ की दीपिका अपनी नन्ही सी लौ से अन्य रेप-पीडि़ताओं के अँधेरे जीवन को प्रकाशमान करने का उद्यम करती है, तो उसके इस संकल्प और साहस को नमन करने का जी चाहता है। ‘अग्नि-राग’ इसी संवेदना का उपन्यास है।SKU: n/a -
